Privacy Policy
Swift Support ("Swift Support", "SwiftCare", "we", "us", "our") operates a South African online marketplace at swiftcare-app.com and through our iOS and Android mobile apps (together, the "Platform"). The Platform connects customers with local service providers such as cleaners, plumbers, electricians, handymen and gardeners.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. We process personal information in accordance with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Swift Support is the responsible party for the personal information described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Account & identity: name, email address and phone number.
- Sign-in data: if you sign in with email/OTP or with Google or Facebook, we receive a basic identifier and your email from that provider to create and secure your account.
- Location & address: an approximate location (for example a map pin or area) so we can match you with nearby providers, and the full job address, which is only revealed to the matched provider when the job is formally started.
- Job & quote details: the service you request, descriptions, photos you choose to add, quotes, revisions and booking history.
- Messages: chat messages exchanged between customers and providers on the Platform.
- Ratings & reviews: ratings and feedback you give and receive.
- Provider information: if you register as a provider, verification details and payout preferences (for example PayShap, Capitec Pay, eWallet, Instant Money or bank EFT details).
- Payment information: the platform commission is processed by Paystack. Card details are entered with and held by Paystack — we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Device & usage data: device type, app version, IP address, and basic usage and diagnostic information that helps us run and secure the Platform.
2. Why we use your information and our legal basis
Under POPIA we process personal information only where we have a lawful basis. We use your information to:
| Purpose | Legal basis (POPIA) |
|---|---|
| Create and secure your account; sign you in | Performance of our agreement with you |
| Match customers with nearby providers and run the quote/booking flow | Performance of our agreement with you |
| Enable chat, ratings and provider verification | Performance of our agreement; legitimate interest in a safe marketplace |
| Process the platform commission via Paystack | Performance of our agreement with you |
| Send transactional notifications by WhatsApp or SMS (e.g. new quotes, job updates) | Performance of our agreement with you |
| Provide AI assistance (matching, message suggestions, job summaries, dispute review) | Legitimate interest in improving service quality |
| Prevent fraud, abuse and keep the Platform secure | Legitimate interest; legal obligation |
| Marketing or launch updates (only if you opt in) | Consent |
3. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the parties needed to operate the Platform, each acting as an operator or independent responsible party as appropriate:
- Service providers you are matched with — providers see your job details, chat messages and, once the job is formally started, your job address, so they can quote and complete the work.
- Customers — if you are a provider, customers see your business name, ratings and quotes.
- Paystack — to process the platform commission payment.
- Twilio — to deliver WhatsApp and SMS notifications.
- Google and Facebook — only if you choose to sign in with them, to verify your identity with that provider.
- Anthropic — to power AI features such as matching, message suggestions, job summaries and dispute review. Content is sent for processing and is not used to train third-party models.
- Hosting, infrastructure and analytics providers that help us run the Platform.
- Authorities or advisors where required by law, or to protect our rights and users' safety.
Some of these providers may process data outside South Africa. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives a comparable level of protection, as required by POPIA.
4. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law (for example, to retain transaction records). Job, quote and message history is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for dispute resolution and legal compliance. If you ask us to leave your number so we can notify you when a matching provider joins, we delete that number once we have notified you or you tell us to stop. When information is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.
5. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct or update inaccurate information;
- Ask us to delete your information and close your account (see section 6);
- Object to certain processing, and withdraw consent for marketing at any time;
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@swiftcare-app.com.
6. Deleting your account and data
You can request deletion of your account and personal information at any time — in the app, or by emailing info@swiftcare-app.com. Full details, including what is deleted and the timeframe, are on our Delete account & data page.
7. Children
Swift Support is intended for adults (18 years and older). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and limiting access to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to notify you and the Information Regulator of any breach as required by law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
